mail server policy & anti-abuse

this page documents the sender posture of mail.jurnies.org, the Jurnies mail server. it declares the authentication mechanisms in force, the categories of mail we send, and how to report abuse.

sender domain

Jurnies operates its own mail server at mail.jurnies.org. tenant outbound mail, platform transactional mail (verification, security alerts, billing receipts), and operator correspondence are all routed through this host. we do not relay through a third-party mail-sending provider.

authentication

mail from mail.jurnies.org is authenticated end-to-end:

  • SPF. a TXT record at jurnies.org declares the IP range of mail.jurnies.org as authorized to send mail on behalf of the domain. receivers can verify the envelope sender path against this record.
  • DKIM. every outbound message is cryptographically signed with the Jurnies DKIM key. the public key is published as a TXT record at the standard _domainkey selector under jurnies.org. signature validation proves the message was authorized by us and was not modified in transit.
  • DMARC. a TXT record at _dmarc.jurnies.org publishes our DMARC policy. we operate at p=quarantine with aggregate reporting enabled (rua=mailto:[email protected]) and intend to move to p=reject once Founding-100 sender volume has stabilized DKIM alignment.
  • MTA-STS & TLS-RPT. mail to and from mail.jurnies.org is delivered over TLS where the counterparty supports it. MTA-STS and TLS-RPT will be published at the same cadence as DMARC tightening.

categories of mail we send

  • transactional. account verification, password reset, billing receipts, security notifications. opt-in is implicit in account creation.
  • operational. service notices, incident communications, scheduled maintenance. opt-out applies only where legally optional.
  • tenant outbound. mail sent by tenants on the Jurnies platform to their own customers. tenants are contractually responsible for their own list hygiene and consent capture.
  • marketing. Jurnies-originated marketing mail is opt-in only. every marketing message includes a one-click unsubscribe; unsubscribe state is honored across all marketing channels (mail, in-app, push).

what we do not do

  • we do not send unsolicited bulk mail.
  • we do not allow tenants to send to addresses they did not collect through a verifiable opt-in. platform abuse triggers tenant suspension under the per-tenant agreement.
  • we do not buy or rent mailing lists.
  • we do not relay mail for third parties. mail.jurnies.org is a Jurnies-only sender.
